• Assist the RN with assessing vital signs and reporting abnormal findings
• Drawing labs appropriate to the care of the neonate
• Provide nutrition as appropriate including feeding tubes, breast milk and formula
• Assist the RN in education of parents on their newborn's care
• Collaborate and communicate closely with respiratory therapist, neonatologist, and nurse practitioners to ensure quality of care
• Assist the nurse in bathing and diapering infants
• Adjust medical equipment settings as necessary for the neonate's care
• Providing emotional support to the parents during this time

• Assist Nurse with Administering Medication PO/IV/Enteral
• Collaborate with other Healthcare Professionals
• Establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Conduct routine laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis and treatment of conditions
• Observe and report any changes in patient condition to proactively address potential risks.
• Document and communicate patient information in EMR system for continuity of care
• Assist with patient ambulation and use of mobility assistance aids to reduce risks.

Floyd Atrium Health Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Units: 96 hours
