I have been part of the construction industry since 2011, with a focus on oil & gas, refinery, and mining
since 2017, and I have truly enjoyed the journey. In early 2020, I attended Baton Rouge Community College
to earn my NCCER- CSST (Construction Site Safety Technician) certification. I’ve had the privilege of
working alongside some incredible individuals, always prioritizing safety both on and off the job.
*Answers safety related inquiries, provides information and/or redirects inquiries as appropriate.
*Identify safety work permits and assure compliance with project contract plans.
*Conduct incident/investigation reporting in a timely manner.
*Review and provide oversight of regulatory requirements ensuring compliance with existing regulations and Company initiatives and standards dealing with safety for the complex.
*Collect and assess data on safety program effectiveness.
*Instruct and consult on high-risk field permitting activities and provide information on safety related field activities.
*Assess (safety) risk exposure and lead development of appropriate controls.
*Receipt, inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing of various
SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other respiratory equipment
and breathing air equipment in accordance with approved testing and service
procedures.
*Monitoring entrants during the job and during entry and exit to help ensure their
safety.
*The attendant may not abandon his post for any reason while personnel
are in the space unless relieved by another qualified attendant.
*Monitoring atmospheric conditions in the space before and during entry.
