- Duties and responsibilities of Chief of Police were similar to that of Chief of School Police, but on a much greater scale. Department included had a $20.5 million dollar operational budget with 150 authorized sworn personnel and approx. 90 civilian personnel. City of Compton has an area of 10.5 sq. miles and a day time population of 120,000 persons.
- The Department contained Patrol, Investigative and Administrative Bureaus and a number of Operational divisions, such a Air Support, SWAT and Special Investigations & etc.
- Was a 31 1/2 year member of the Compton Police Department rising through the ranks from Police Officer to Chief of Police.
- Worked a variety of assignments throughout my career including, Patrol Special Investigations, Narcotics/Vice (Detective & Supervisor), Administrative Services, Juvenile (Detective & Supervisor), Adjutant to different Captains and the Chief of Police, Watch Commander and Bureau Captain.
