Howard Claflin

Joined Frys Food Store in 2017. I had more fun in this job. Frys was a great store with great people. I looked forward to every day. I was hired full time and enjoyed regular pay increases.

My wife's sister was having health problem and in 2022 we made the decision to come back home to Roanoke.

After retired from Sears, joined Walmart as Front End CSM. Was forced to step down to cashier. I continued as cashier until we moved to Sun City West , Az. in 2022.

My career with Sears was with Sears Credit moving up through assistant Credit manager. I was transferred from Charlotte N.C. to the territorial offices in Atlanta, Ga. as the facility Manager.

My ultimate goal was to eventually be promoted to The Home Office in Chicago, Il.. That goal was accomplished in 1993. I transferred to home office as a Project Manager.

During my tenure in Chicago, I earned a Certificate as Master Project Manager. This certificate was awarded by George Washington University. I continued in this capacity until 2004 when I retired from Sears.
