Accomplishments

Every healthcare facility I ever managed, enjoyed improved scores from DHH and CMS in Annual Survey results for patient care and regulatory compliance. In addition, every facility enjoyed increased profits and higher Medicare Star Ratings during my term at the helm.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I was able to convince the Louisiana Legislature to provide funding for a generator large enough to energize the entire building of the not-for-profit nursing facility where I was serving as Administrator, ensuring that our residents would never again have to suffer from dehydration and sweltering heat in the aftermath of future storms. After hearing my testimony, and seeing the validity of my request, the legislature decided to put into place a grant program that would provide the same funding for ANY nursing facility located below the I-10 / I-12 corridor. So, because of my ability to "think outside the box" and willingness to ask for something no one had ever requested before, I was able to improve the living conditions of thousands of seniors all across South Louisiana. This is the achievement of which I am most proud.
