I am a American stylist who have counted Donna Karan, Trudie Styler, and executives at Hermès, Prada, and Ralph Lauren among my A-list clientele. What’s perhaps most interesting about myself is that I am at the height of my career both as master men’s haircutter and barber —and also as a master hair colorist.
I began my career as a self-taught men’s haircutter more than 30 years ago, and I’ve brought my love of men’s style and barbering techniques to the forefront of my practice. I specialize in classic clipper barbering, scissor-only cutting, know several different types of fades, and I specialize in fading by hand using finishing edgers and a comb—techniques that give my clients a refined, tailored, and polished look. I restructure men’s hairstyles by drawing on styles from the past to reflect modern sensibilities and fashion. In this regard, I experiment with recreating lost style and prestige, finding inspiration in portraits of influential men from the Nineteenth Century such as former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli and aristocrat Arnauld de Beaufort.
I’ve also worked with some of the world’s most sough known fashion directors and designers, In 2012 he worked extensively as a lead men’s stylist with menswear designer Hisham Oumlil, for whom he did all of Mr. Oumlil’s editorial shoots, online catalogues, and fashion shows, and served as key hairdresser and style consultant to Mr. Oumlil’s 2012 show at New York Fashion Week. I also help execute editorial concepts for designer Robert Berry, founder of the fashion house Landero.
As noted above, I am also unique in that I am is equally accomplished as a master hair colorist. During the course of my career, I have developed several trademarked coloring patterns that impart a sophisticated yet natural look—which years later led me to collaborate with Wella, where I served as Lead Colorist of their first flagship salon in North America, located here in NYC at Pipino Salon.
Previously, I held positions at some of the world’s most celebrated salons. At the age of 25 I served served as Assistant Lead Colorist and Men’s Cutter at KVG, the top salon in Miami’s South Beach. My next positions included posts as Color Director at RPHS in San Fransciso. As well as working in My field Switzerland and Australia.
I am an avid Aquarist. Having multiple aquariums throughout my home. I also have a deep passion for CrossFit. As well as just knowing what it takes not to take, but to offer as well.
