Dedicated Science Teacher with 21 years of experience teaching general science, earth science, physics and physiology concepts to pupils. Plans and delivers science program that includes demonstrations, lectures, discussion and student experiments to develop language, logic and problem-solving skills in classroom. Uses variety of research-based instructional practices and current resources to support instructional goals and student needs. I am also bilingual and was able to help students from Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries fit in and encourage them to learn and speak English.
During my 21 years teaching in RISD in addition to teaching 7th grade science, 8th grade science and Biology I was also a football/track coach for 15 years, I also coached girls soccer, boys tennis and boys basketball
I am an avid news fan I love to read the newspaper, online news anything that keeps me informed about the world. I like to read anything educational and I also enjoy self help books.
After having my kids the bike riding isn't what it used to be, but when I get the chance I like to ride the paved trails in Carrollton and in the Lake Highlands area on my rode bike. I also enjoy going off the paved roads and into the dirt trails with my mountain bike.
At our school we had several non-paying positions that needed to be filled, I would usually end up filling those positions when possible.
