  • Currently my title is Social Services MDS Director with this role I enter the medical data for Social Servies this consist of residents well beings and cognitive functions. Preforming observations and interviews to get information about the patients for MDS assessments. Also, in my role I have the responsibility of submitting reviews to KEPRO for managed insurance patients who choose to prolong the stay inside of the facility, I also reach out to responsible parties to collaborate about the residents' plan of care. Within the sections I complete I'm also response for resident CAA's (Care Area Assessment) and proceeding to care plans as needed for quality of care. I have also been cross trained in transportation scheduling and the referral process; I am able to compile residents' documents for outside providers to schedule appointments once residents are ready to be discharged or while they are inside of the facility. This goes along with D/C planning such as contacting outside home health companies and residents primary care providers to ensure care is still met once out of the facility.

  • During my role as Medical Records/Data Analysis Department Head I was responsible for imputing residents' information and dx codes to ensure they received the correct care. Along with that I was tasked with billing and contacting the correct insurance on a monthly quota to ensure payment was received for services. Working with hospitals and communicating with outside providers to receive documentation (DC Summaries, eMARS, etc.) for chart reviews and keeping my audits up to 100% while making sure that HIPPA guidelines are followed. Uploading physician and pharmacy consults along with labs, x-rays, MOST forms, etc. into the system for future reference along with other documents to provide more information on the patient, also communicating with residents and responsible parties about medical record request and providing them in a timely manner. During my role I was also cross trained in NHSN reporting and keeping up spread sheets/timelines of residents and employees with active COVID and flu vaccinations, while reporting them to the NC Health Administration and CMS to meet our quality measures.

  • During my role as Internal Child Care Director, I was responsible for managing a staff of 16 Coordinators and counselors to ensure the workplace ran smoothly and effortlessly. Other responsibilities this job consisted of were dealing with potential and current clients to ensure needs were met for all parties involved. I oversaw weekly schedules and accommodation to the staff while making sure we met daily quota with staffing and safety protocols. The most important role that I had in this job was the personal relationships made with the staff and children with the mutual balance between respect and authority. During my role I had the opportunity to get training in CPR, First aid, and cross training in my lifeguarding certification. Also, I produced weekly exercises and activities to maintain organization between the coordinators and to help them with time management skills.
