Accomplishments

    Beginning my professional career as an Infantryman in the United States Army, I led, supervised, and served as a member of an infantry unit of 10-20 people, where we employed individual weapons, machine guns, and anti-armor weapons in offensive and defensive ground combat.

    After my time in the military, I was employed by the Porter County Jail as a Jail Officer. While acting as a jail officer, I monitored inmate movements to ensure the safety and security of the jail facility. I also conducted searches of the incoming arrestees as well as current inmates for weapons, narcotics, and controlled substances.

    During my time as a coroner, I examined death scenes, investigated suspicious or unexplained deaths, documented evidence, and assisted the medical examiner by collecting information about the deceased to determine the cause and manner of death. My key duties included inspecting the body, interviewing witnesses, securing evidence, and preparing detailed reports for legal proceedings.

    Lastly, in my current role as a patrolman at the Porter County Sheriff's Department, I enforce local, state, traffic, and criminal laws; investigate crashes involving serious bodily injuries, operating while intoxicated, leaving the scene crashes, domestic violence crimes, burglaries, thefts, and initial investigations of suicide, I submit and file misdemeanor and felony charges with the prosecutor's office. Serve felony and misdemeanor warrants on wanted individuals, prepare and document reports detailing the facts of the investigations, crimes, and evidence submission per policy and procedure.
