Hunter Fonseca

I'm a sophomore at the University of Washington studying Political Science (International Security) and Law, Societies, & Justice, alongside a minor in International Studies. I've contributed to two $500 million construction projects during my internships at CSM by managing documentation, drafting and editing grant applications, and leading public outreach efforts for a city-wide website. At Ballotpedia, I researched political candidates and verified election data, gaining experience with independent work and deadline-driven research. Through volunteer trips with the Yale Alumni Service Corps, I’ve worked with local students in Puerto Rico and helped rebuild community spaces, experiences that challenged me to be flexible, collaborative, and culturally aware. I'm looking for a summer 2025 internship in international affairs, public policy, or a related field where I can dig into research and see how decisions get made.

Alpha Sigma Phi Vice President of Standards (May 2023-May 2024)

• Handled conduct cases and led the Standards Board in enforcing fraternity and campus policies, including health and safety rules.
• Ran quarterly educational sessions, supported crisis response, and set up safety plans for events.
• Oversaw incident reporting and worked closely with the University's Prudential Board and Standards Advisor to keep operations organized and aligned with chapter values.

• Member of the athletics program, which provided children with a space to have fun and play games and helped them develop leadership and teamwork skills.

• Member of the Environmental Team. Worked on re-building a garden at the Escuela Manuel Elzaburu y Vizcarrondo in Old San Juan after a hurricane destroyed it. Additionally educated the students in basic gardening skills through fun group activities.
