Work History

Freezer/Cooler/Deli

I began my stint at Sam's Club as a merchandiser before I made my transition into the freezer. The Skills gained while working on the floor helped me tackle the challenges that the freezers present. A normal day in the freezer requires immense organization and preparation. The freezers push some of the highest volume in the club, and I have helped lead our section in a way that has been able to handle this with efficiency and effectiveness. The freezer has helped me learn how to lean and adapt quickly because of recent job restructures that have required more out of myself and my peers. The freezer has been widely regarded as one of the most laborious and challenging area in the club, and i enjoy that I am pushed to do my best every day.

Planet Fitness was a fast pace environment that required me to work well as a team and provide the best customer service. I was in charge of pitching potential members of the benefits of the gym and persuading them into signing up for a membership. I acquired great phone experience as I had to answer questions about the facility and its unique qualities. Lastly, I was expected to push sales of tanning lotions and other exercise gear, and I was one of the top sellers in the district multiple months.

While working as a Front Service Clerk, I had to work in a high paced environment as my location was one of the highest revenues store in the market. I was in charge of operating a register and bagging groceries for customers. After closing, myself and other associates carefully polished floor and closed out registers. I was given opportunities to train as a lead and run the front as a way of job development. The skills learned at Publix helped me become well rounded in retail and customer service.

I was tasked with opening and closing the gas station and cleaning all food areas at the end of the night. Do to unexpected events, myself and a coworker were tasked with taking on the extra tasks that were given to the assistant manager. This is where I learned to lead and motivate my coworkers to accomplish tasks in a short amount of time. I also learned to cook and handle fresh food because of the restaurant attached to the gas station.
