I started working for pike on April 11th, 2025. My job at pike was a transmission truck driver.Some of the duties I would carry out through my work week would be keeping a organized truck such as making sure coolers were filled with water and ice , making sure the cab was clean , and making sure the truck was road ready (safe) to drive. After that was accomplished we would head to the right of way to start our job task for the day. Our jobs would vary depending on the type of job we were doing whether that’s pulling wire, setting new and tearing out old structures , or regular maintance on lines. Some of the things I would do would be making sure the lineman has all his tools prepared for the job he’s been assigned to do, having material made up such as dead end body’s , shoes , insulator bells. Setting guy wire and jacking it back to get the pole plum , hauling poles with a pole trailer, framing poles and then getting rigging on the pole to safely set them in newly dug holes.Sometimes math would come into my job as well doing equations for how deep to dig a hole, how much wire to cut , or simply how far to set up a digger truck to pick up material.
