  • Utilized appropriate personal protective gear such as hard hats, eye protection, steel-toe boots, hearing protection, gloves and face shields when operating chain saws.
  • Maintained a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols, including wearing protective equipment such as gloves, glasses and steel-toed boots.
  • Cut steel plates with oxy-acetylene torch or plasma cutter as required for specific jobs. (only for maintenance work, rarely used)
  • Organized and monitored the daily workflow of steel workers on production floor. (When i was group leader)
  • Fabricated complex components from raw materials such as steel bars or plates. I made a safety guard for a piece of machinery as a countermeasure.
  • Installed and fabricated steel dies and tooling into presses and other heavy machinery.

  • Conducted non-destructive testing on forged pieces and cast parts. Visual inspection, gage inspection, MPI inspection, and hardness test. Sometimes, a tensile test would be in order.
  • Replace worn parts such as rollers and cylinders on presses as required.
  • Train new employees in safe operation procedures for printing presses.
  • Change dies and tooling when switching jobs during production hours. (change over)
  • Make adjustments to temperature controls based on the type of part being forged.
  • Maintain detailed logs of work performed, including timesheets and tools used.
  • Record information, such as the number of machinery faults made during the shift.
  • Load material into the mechanism feeding tube of the press.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as lubricating moving parts or cleaning presses after use.
  • Adjust pressure settings on press to ensure proper tonnage and depth setting on the pressed steel.
  • Follow written instructions from supervisor regarding production jobs to be completed.
  • Perform minor and major repairs to machines as needed. Major would be done with the assistance of a supervisor if the maintenance teams were busy in different departments.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems using hand tools and gauges.
