UMSOD Endodontics Department: In process research project utilizing the food industry’s food testing to use for identification of bacteria residual after access and debridement before obturation. Presence of adenylate in the food industry indicates surface allergen contamination. This method tests effectiveness of cleaning procedures. The goal is to take advantage of these immediate results and use it in the realm of endodontics. ATP has an association with bacteria in the oral cavity. The use of these devices could potentially indicate success of treatment from eradication of bacteria in root canals. Clinical data to be achieved in Spring 2024. Project resident: Nic Stroeters. - Baltimore Hispanic Heritage Festival (at Reisterstown Regional Park)

October 14, 2023, 1-4pm, Helped provide dental screenings to Hispanic families attending festival. Identified disease such as singular cavities to widespread early childhood caries through limited exams and suggested referrals. Fluoride application was done at the end of each screening.

- Baltimore Curbside Volunteer at Baltimore Community Food Bank

2022-2023 Worked several Saturdays, 5 hours each session, loading boxes with distributions of food and household items and then loading each car waiting in line on the street with the packed boxes according to household size.

- Serve Sunday at Hopeville Church (at the Stadium School)

On every 5th Sunday of 2023, worked with church members to do construction and space revamping at the Stadium School to support the community. Job included painting cabinets and walls, replacing the auditorium wooden panels on seats, and cleaning up trash in surrounding outdoor areas (around 4 hours each session).  

- Maryland Food Bank Volunteer

May 3, 2022 contributed two hours to feeding hungry Marylanders during COVID-19 public health crisis by putting together sandwiches on production line format.

- M&T Bank Stadium Concessions Volunteer

2022 As a part of ASDA (American Student Dental Association), worked a concession booth with several other student during Ravens home games (on 3 occasions of about 6 hours each). Job entailed setting up food before kickoff and working the cashier during the game.
