My main goal was to assist our tenants with working on resumes and job interview techniques. I would then assist them in searching for an appropriate job. Some of our tenants also wanted to earn their GED; then I would assist them in enrolling in Truckee Meadows Community College. I also assisted in helping to complete their college degree if they needed the help. I also had a myriad of other responsibilities such as: basic case management, transporting our tenants to the local food banks, transportation to Good Shepherd for clothing and transportation to court, and doctors appointments.

Led a team to manage this program. The program was a partnership between One Truckee River and the Washoe County Crossroads program. This is a unique program; it was designed to return the Truckee River back to its natural state. We took members of the Crossroads program and trained in the fields of conservationism, irrigation, chain saw safety, pesticide application and arborism. The initial group became licensed in water management, chain saw use and pesticide application. The purpose was to gain meaningful employment upon graduation from the Crossroads program.

As a behavioral health technician at Crossroads I had multiple duties. I was responsible for administering drug and alcohol testing, doing daily room checks, leading multiple work group sessions, transportation, and making sure the house ran smoothly.
