Ian Sherrill

Muskegon,Michigan

Summary

I am a current student of Fruitport High School, 11th grade. I have been a part of various extra-curricular activities including the Fruitport High School Marching Band, Fruitport Independent Percussion, and am active in The Boy Scouts of America Troop 1023. As well as being a student of FHS, I am enrolled in an Early College program and am taking classes at the Muskegon Community College. While I have not yet had an official job, I have participated in multiple different volunteer activities in my 3 extracurricular activities, including various Eagle Scout projects; the Memorial day parade and Old-fashioned Days carnival in Fruitport, Michigan for the Lions Club; and various fundraisers for Marching Band and Drumline Percussion. I excel in work environments that require physical labor, manual work, and work well in teams with other people.

Camping, hiking, music, cooking, and science of all kinds

I have been on multiple different camping trips with my troop, Troop 1023. I have hiked in multiple locations across America, including Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico. I have been in band since the 5th grade, and participate in multiple band programs outside of school, including marching band and winter drumline. I have always enjoyed cooking and, while not very good at it, always try something new and look for opportunities to improve my skills. I have always enjoyed learning about science and the various fields of study throughout school. I also plan to major in nuclear engineering once I am finished with high school and have my associates degree from the Early College program at MCC.
