Iara Magalhães was born in 2000 in Porto. As a professional artist, she was part and curated various exhibitions and art events such as "Synesthesia" in Porto (2023) and the Porto Cello Festival (2022). She was also part of competitions as a painter such as Jovàrte Bienal Jovem in Loures (2021). Beyond her path in Fine Arts, she studied singing in Academia Valentim de Carvalho. In 2018, she completed Grade 8 in Pop/Rock Vocals and Grade 6 in Harp from Trinity College of London. She participated in the Abingdon Summer School for Solo Singers in 2019 and has performed in various concerts throughout Portugal and Boston, including the 38th Annual Folk Festival in the Berklee Performance Center, in which she represented Portugal. She was part of Masterclasses with artists such as Kurt Elling, Dani Gurgel and Herbie Hancock. She is a jazz vocalist and the founder of Collaborative Young Artists, a networking platform for artists, that aims to organize concerts and award scholarships to art students for them to be able to pursue their studies. "Thousand Paths" (2024) and "Once in a While" (2025) are her first original works, published by the Portuguese label Valentim de Carvalho.
