Ibrahim Mattoo

• For 3 years, I've volunteered for special needs kids at Dar us Sakina. I work with a group of people to provide a fun, supportive environment for these kids to play basketball and participate in activities.
  
  My responsibilities include:
  
  - Being paired with a partner and teaching them skills of basketball
  - Participating in drills and games, encouraging my partner and helping them learn
  - Assisting my partner with any needs to fully engage
  - Rotating through stations like dribbling, shooting, and passing
  - Providing a positive, patient presence to help my partner feel comfortable
  - Collaborating with volunteers to ensure all the kids are engaged and included
  - Setting up and cleaning up the basketball court and activity areas
  
  Over the years, I've made a meaningful impact by:
  
  - Helping them develop skills, coordination, and confidence through the sport
  - Providing a supportive, inclusive environment for socializing and making friends
  - Giving them the opportunity to be physically active and lead healthy lifestyles

- I am a dedicated basketball player who trains often to improve my skills
- I play for my high school team
- I also compete and play AAU which has allowed me to show my abilities at a higher level of competition
- Through my high school and AAU , I have developed strong fundamentals, court awareness, and the ability to perform under pressure
- My commitment to basketball is evident in the time and effort I devote to practice, training, and game situations
