After a year I advanced positions and became a Pipeline Controlman. A Pipeline Controlman is responsible for maintaining water pressure within strict parameters to ensure the safe operation of the pipeline running from Florida City to Key West. While working as a controlman, I also worked as a treatment mechanic, fixing PVC pipes, excavating to replace old parts of underground pipes, and replacing chlorine lines. I had the opportunity to join the information technology team with the Aqueduct Authority.
