  • I prepare and assist with procedures and treatments such as central line and arterial line insertion, external ventriculostomy placement, ventriculoperitoneal shunt taps, lumbar punctures, endotracheal and nasal intubation, bronchoscopy procedures, pleural chest tube placement, and procedures requiring moderate sedation, etc.
  • I administer and manage vasoactive drips, vasodilator drips, hypertonic solutions, paralytics, opioid analgesics, and sedatives medications such as Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Cardizem, Clevedipine, 3% Sodium Chloride, Cisatracurium, Propofol, Ketamine, etc.
  • Provide care for Neurosurgical, Neuro-Trauma, and Neurovascular illnesses and injuries, including an assortment of neurological disorders such as Aneurysm ruptures, Brain Tumors, Epidural Hemorrhages, Subarachnoid Hemorrhages, Embolic Strokes, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, etc.
  • As one of the stroke champions and preceptors on the unit, I take my role in delivering top-quality care to stroke patients very seriously. Whenever there is a code stroke on the unit, I am expected to guide the code if necessary. I also commit to doing everything I can to help patients with different types of strokes get the care they need. I also train new and seasoned nurses to become safe and respectful nurses.
