SYEP stands for the Summer Youth Employment Program. It is a six-week summer job program targeted at youths aged 14 to 24 who are allowed to work for 25 hours weekly as part of career exploration and experience programs.
Youths aged between 14 and 15 years receive training through project-based learning and financial literacy programs
While older ones (aged 16 to 24) are placed in actual work sites such as hospitals, stores, summer camps, and government offices where they undertake jobs such as customer care services and office duties. SYEP is conducted in July and August each year.
