Experienced Associate Director and Student Loan Strategy Coach with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. ●Co-Administer and manage the day to day operation of the office in the absence of the Associate Vice
President of Financial Aid Perform other related duties as assigned
● Exercises independent judgment in the management of operational details of the financial aid process
● Develops and maintains the policy and procedures for
the financial aid office to improve and enhance processes and students' experience in alignment with federal guidelines.
● Independently evaluates new and innovative ways to improve processing, communication and overall performance of the department.
● Assists the AVP of Financial Aid as needed with the annual audits, program reviews, FISAP, final
reconciliation and other reports required.
● Assists the AVP of Financial Aid in development of creating efficiencies as well as creating institutional
policies and procedures based on federal and state regulations.
● Manage and oversee full-service financial aid processing and awarding for all prospective, returning,
and newly enrolled graduate students, to include online MPS (Master of Professional Studies) students throughout the academic year. Work closely with Graduate Academic Program Directors, other
administrative staff, and third party vendors to provide financial aid expertise and guidance regarding
the MPS program.
● Manage and oversee processing and reconciliation of all graduate and undergraduate federal loans.
● Work closely with Student Finance to draw down loan proceeds from the U.S Department of Education into the school's bank account as required by federal regulations.
● Manage the processing and awarding of Chapter 33 VA eligible students. Coordinate with Veterans Administration officials, prospective, current, and newly enrolled veteran students/spouses or dependent children of active veterans.
● Maintain integral knowledge, benefit eligibility and ensure MICA’s procedures and eligibility to participate remain up to date by completing annual VA administration of surveys, forms, and reports.
Complete and update the Department of Defense Memorandum of Understanding.
● Assist the AVP for Financial Aid with extracting graduate and veteran student data, compiling reports, and other tasks..
