My educational background credentials allow me to work with younger children, adolescents, and adults; however, I specialize in counseling children and adolescents in individual or small group settings. I have years of experience in counseling working with children and adolescents in various settings such as: elementary, middle, and high school students. I also have experience advising college students.
My theoretical orientation is based on a person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) that will help my clients see and understand their true identities and support their decision making. At times, it may be appropriate to use other theoretical orientations if they are a better fit for the clients. Some techniques I frequently use in my session are: Role play and Mindfulness exercises. My primary goal is to utilize techniques and theories I have that will allow the client to achieve their goals.
