Designed, developed and maintained services and indexing pipelines that powers the web and mobile app lodging search experience.

• Researched, designed, and implemented the migration of Vrbo search platform. This migration resulted in substantial performance improvements, reducing p99 latency by 800ms. I also implemented several A/B tests and iterated on different ranking algorithms while collaborating with the Data Science and Ranking teams to improve search relevance.
• Led project to create redundant and resilient infrastructure for pricing services spanning both us-west-2 and us-east-1 regions in AWS. I created and maintained CI/CD pipelines in TeamCity and deployed services to AWS using Chef, Packer, and Terraform.
• Designed and implemented the Flexible Dates search feature, enabling users to search for hotel travel dates within a specified time window. The backend services were written in Kotlin and use Elasticsearch for storage, while the frontend was implemented using Node, React, and GraphQL.

Building APIs and integrating the suite of services that support outfit recommendations served at Nordstrom.com and the mobile app. Collaborating with cross-functional team of engineers to understand requirements.

• Implemented an event-driven design for storing product information in Redis reducing calls to databases and downstream dependencies
• Designed and implemented an API which allowed the application to be able to handle 2x the number of requests when serving Looks
• Configured and automated deployments to AWS. Worked on creating deployment scripts, automating unit and integration tests, and templates to be extended by other CICD pipelines
• Integrated logging and alerts to monitor application health in production using Datadog

Worked as a back-end developer in an agile environment for the Search Advertising platform.

• Implemented functionality to determine secure and non-secure managed websites within the ad-posting workflow, overall improving ad score rankings in different search engines

Built RESTful microservices for AOL’s demand side platform to deliver customer features using Java 8 and the Spring Boot framework.

• Designed and developed features for the Mobile Video Creative workflow as an API developer in a cross functional agile team
• Provided high level event and metrics monitoring by designing and developing a real-time audit log system for AOL’s legacy platform. This was implemented using ElasticSearch, LogStash and Kibana
