I have some years under my belt as a sales associate. I have learned valuable work skills as well as applicable social skills. I haven't disapointed my managers as when I do make mistakes I do everything in my power to rectify it. I have learned to work well with others and be friendly towards all those around me. I learn quickly, and am willing to do what needs to be done.
I also have over a year's experience as a Registered Behavior Technician. In this job I work one on one with clients on the spectrum and their families, focusing on problem solving, communication, and following detailed clinical instructions. I work closely with a supervisor that guides me and provides feedback. My supervisor creates behavior plans that I carry out and work on with clients, helping them to reach the goals that have been outlined.
I engage in small time community volunteer work, organizing a weekly role play oriented table top game session with some local individuals, two of which are on the spectrum and three of them have ADHD. I write a story for them to follow and provide opportunities to refine their problem solving, cooperation, and social skills in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
I have also recently started volunteering with a local non-profit called Louisa Clean, and organization dedicated to keeping the roads of Louisa, VA clear of litter.
I have been hiking consistently around the east coast since I was five, including rock climbing in the Breaks Interstate Park and Acadia National Park. I have also been kickboxing since August of 2024 at least two nights a week, engaging in heavy aerobic exercise for at least 40 minutes per session.
