Took up this position because I had filled in to help the Dairy department and done such a good job they wanted me to work there permanently.

I gained experience in the following:

• Lifting heavy objects for extended periods.
• Working with customers when needed.
• Changed labels during sales or price changes.
• Spending extended periods in a refrigerated environment.
• Training new people in the department and our sister departments.
• Using cleaning products to keep shelves and storage spaces clean and mold free.
• Using industrial machines and vehicles.
• Keeping track of inventory both physically and electronically.
• Keeping track of food dates, including reducing and/or removing.
• Introducing changes to the department that improved workflow.
• Leading a large department of the store during evenings and closing.

Started working afterschool for a bit of pocket cash. Ended up being one of their top cashiers of my time there. Quite enjoyed working with the public and with my co-workers. It was simple to begin with, just operating a register, interacting with the shoppers, and cleaning. Eventually got to help my managers with closing the store.
