As a hardworking and goal-oriented undergraduate student currently pursuing a BS degree in Coastal Engineering, I am excited about applying my interests and knowledge to assess and protect our valuable coastal resources as a Coastal Engineer.
Living and working on the coast and within the surf industry extended my interpersonal skills and interests to the areas of customer satisfaction and service, which focused on providing recommendations for surf products and merchandise for the novice and experienced surfer and skateboarder.
Helping beginning surfers gain confidence through personal support and engaging instruction allowed me to share expertise on weather and ocean patterns and promote respect for our coastal resources.
Extensive global travel including Kauai, Cartagena (Columbia), Cancun, Belize, Puerto Rico has allowed a deeper understanding of other cultures and the impacts of resources and sustainability in areas with different geographical characteristics. Annual scuba diving and spear fishing expeditions in the Florida Keys have encouraged my interests in ocean and coastal biodiversity and conservation. Successfully maintaining a diverse saltwater tank in my home allows me to apply this knowledge.
