Isabel Ray

At the Community Research Foundation, my supervisor is Priscilla Grossman. Our crisis home serves individuals aged 18 and up. I work anywhere from 16-40 hours a week. My responsibilities include:

• Strengthened family support systems by providing psychoeducation and facilitating open communication between patients and their loved ones.
• Maintained detailed documentation of clinical notes, tracking patient progress throughout the course of treatment.
• Facilitated therapeutic support groups focused on topics such as grief, addiction, or relationships to foster connection and shared healing experiences among participants.
• Implemented self-care practices for personal wellbeing and modeled healthy coping strategies for clients to emulate in their own lives.

I am on call and work between 8-16 hours a week at Polinsky Children's Center. My supervisor is Erick Gonzalez. Polinsky is an emergency children's center that serves individuals from infancy to age 18.

• Promoted self-advocacy among clients by encouraging independence in daily living tasks while offering assistance as necessary.
• Provided crisis intervention services, effectively deescalating tense situations and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Maintained detailed records of patient progress, enabling more informed decision-making by healthcare professionals.
• Conducted regular safety checks, proactively addressing potential hazards within the facility.
• Implemented therapeutic activities tailored to individual needs, enhancing overall patient engagement and satisfaction.

The supervisor of our after school program was Amanda Bilger. I worked approximately 22 hours a week. I was placed at an elementary school and served students between the ages of 5-14.

• Served as a positive ambassador for the program by attending community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to build visibility and credibility within relevant circles.
• Maintained accurate records of participant attendance, progress, and outcomes for data-driven decision-making purposes.
• Monitored children's activities throughout day for safety.
• Assisted in the coordination of events and activities, fostering an engaging atmosphere for all participants.
• Utilized positive reinforcement to help children develop communication, social engagement and collaboration skills.
