- I gained 250 hours of hands-on patient experience at this facility as a caregiver for residents with a broad variation of dementia-related cognitive decline. I am also a trained medication aid and assisted in administration of prescription medications. My responsibilities included but were not limited to toileting, bathing, grooming, and general maintenance of the residents rooms and laundry. It was extremely important to me that I did everything I could to maintain the residents' dignity. This position completely changed my outlook on healthcare. This is my first introduction to the responsibility of being a healthcare professional. While the effects of diseases like Alzheimer's are devastating, I was honored to be given an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of many.

- Value Village was my first retail job and I learned the most about defusing situations with customers, management, and cashiering here. I was promoted twice, to be cross-trained in the back of the store and to be a Designated Cashier. I loved being able to monitor my sales reports and my improvement. I was promoted to (Designated Cashier) to assist customers and other employees handle and exchange clothing and shoe items using the computer system and the customers receipts/ assisting guests with using the available self checkout machines, and monitoring for loss prevention.
