Working the cash register, serving customers, making and refilling froyo, cutting fruit and refilling toppings as well as keeping the store clean.
I educated visitors on the importance of the Sonoran Desert and how to help and preserve the environment. I would interpret various topics to the visitors with my personal favorites being meteorites and cochineal. I also did work out in the community such as creating a more sustainable habitat for the endangered Masked Bobwhite Quail. We did this by pulling out invasive buffel grass and stacking up sticks. Branches near the bases of small trees and bushes were broken halfway to create a "skirt". All of this was done to make more shelter for the birds from predators. We also helped around an outdoor community garden called Las Milpitas.
I helped care for the animals at the museum by cleaning cages, changing out old water and food, cutting fresh fruits and veggies for the bearded dragons and turtles, holding the animals and taking them out for play/outside time.
