As a Horse Racing Groom, I am responsible for the daily care and management of racehorses, ensuring their well-being and optimal performance. My duties included grooming, feeding, mucking out stalls, and preparing horses for training and races. I closely monitored their health, reporting any signs of illness or injury to the trainer or veterinarian, and assisted with administering medications or supplements when needed. I also maintained and repaired racing equipment and supported the training process by tacking up and cooling down horses, as well as participating in morning workouts and track sessions. Working closely with trainers, owners and jockeys, I contribute to creating a safe, clean, and stress-free environment for the horses, prioritizing their physical and emotional needs.
