Aspiring Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a strong foundation in psychology, and hands-on experience in childcare and developmental support. Passionate about equity in mental health care, and known for providing compassionate, structured, and intentional care. Brings a background in both academic research and practical applications, with a long-term goal of earning licensure and serving diverse communities through one-on-one counseling and advocacy.
Mental health has been a deeply personal journey for me. One that transformed from survival into purpose. Access to compassionate, professional care not only changed my life, but it inspired my commitment to help others find that same healing. Now that I have pursued my B.A. In psychology at Rowan University, with a 3.8 GPA, I've developed a strong academic foundation in research methods, psychological disorders, and behavior, alongside practical experience in caregiving and mental health support.
Professionally, I've worked in education and caregiving roles, where I built skills in empathy, structure, and individualized care. As a private nanny, I supported children’s emotional and developmental growth through daily routines, structured play, and documentation of behavior and milestones. At Elwyn’s Day Program, I facilitated a creative and empowering environment for a population of adults with developmental disabilities, learning to manage behavioral challenges with patience and adaptability. Across these roles, I have gained hands-on experience in behavior management, clear communication, critical thinking, and more.
I am seeking an opportunity to apply my academic background, interpersonal skills, and deep passion for mental health in a psychology-focused role. My long-term goal is to become a licensed professional counselor in the state of NJ, and I am eager to contribute to a team that values compassionate, evidence-based care.
