My journey in 4-H has been a rapid and rewarding experience. I joined last year for the 2024-2025 4-H year, having only a small idea of what I was getting myself into. From the day I joined till now I’ve never regretted the decision I made to sign up, and I’ve only grown to appreciate and love the
4-H program with every passing day. After signing up I jumped headlong into learning more about the wonderful program, I did personal research by reading a large amount of 4-H materials as well as ask questions of fellow members and leaders. I also attended Multiple statewide 4-H events including Rec-Lab, Montana 4-H State Congress, and Fall Leadership Training.
Early on in March of 2025, I won 2nd place in my county finals for Communication Days, an event hosted by county 4-H leaders every year.
I ended up being sponsored by my county to compete at the Montana 4-H State Congress where I had the honor of winning first place in the demonstration/illustrated talk division of the public speaking contests, earning me a place in the Montana state delegation sent to National 4-H Congress later in the year.
I have also been very proactive in my community for 4-H, both with my words and deeds. I’ve helped operate an annual Agricultural Day event hosted by 4-H and FFA for 3rd and 4th graders. I have also gone on the radio as a 4-H representative to advertise for my county fair. I often were my 4-H shirts in public to help advance exposure to 4-H in the community at large.
I have also strived to take a place of leadership at my club and county level. I was recently elected vice President of my club, and I recently joined our county Ambassador Team program. I’m a proactive member of my club, constantly seeking for new ways to benefit my club and its members, and I am currently working with my club president and organizational leaders to enhance educational opportunities, teamwork skills, member participation, and individual leadership to the max of its capacity.
