- Loading and unloading: Using equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload cargo from trucks, ships, and delivery vehicles
- Organizing: Keeping the warehouse clean and organized, and ensuring that products are properly labeled and stored
- Inspecting: Checking for damage or missing items, and tallying the unloaded cargo
- Communicating: Working with other dock workers and truck drivers to ensure safe loading and unloading, and to follow safety procedures
- Documenting: Inputting shipping information into a computer system, and logging any shortages or damages
- Assisting: Helping with inventory management
