The Marine Corps mortar man with Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 0341, is responsible for the tactical employment of light and medium mortars, primarily the 60mm and 81mm systems. They provide indirect fire support to rifle and light anti-armor (LAR) squads, platoons, companies, and battalions. This support includes tasks like setting up, loading, and firing mortars, as well as maintaining and cleaning the weapons.
