In the role of Nursing Assistant at Stevens Community Medical Center, the focus is on delivering high-quality patient care while supporting nursing staff in a variety of tasks. This position involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring patients' comfort, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Effective communication with patients and team members is essential for fostering a supportive atmosphere. Additionally, CPR certification and leadership skills contribute to a proactive approach in addressing patient needs and emergencies.
My duties are to assist nursing staff in the clinic (primarily). I work for two main family practice providers, one general surgeon, and one ENT provider. I schedule/reschedule patients in an orderly manner. I oversee all schedules and make adjustments when needed. I assist in small procedures and assure quality patient care is met.
I am also a certified medical interpreter. This duty opens opportunities for myself around the hospital to navigate through different medical atmospheres. From interpreting at a regular office visit, witnessing a cholecystectomy, to assisting at a code blue. In any and every way possible, I am there to assist a non-speaking patient to better understand and fulfill their medical needs.
