Ivan Farias

I’m a sophomore at UNLV majoring in Computer Science, pursuing a career in Software or Machine Learning Engineering. As a lead programmer in the university's robotics club, I’ve honed my skills in C++ and Python through various projects, both in and outside of the club. I am also currently expanding my expertise in SQL for programming and data management. Driven by a passion for problem-solving and curiosity, I'm committed to continuous learning and growth in the field of Computer Science.

• Checkout Machine (C++): Developed a program simulating a checkout machine, including tax calculation and total. Printed digital receipts with payment-dependent information.
• Plotting a 2D Vector (Python): Created a graphing program to plot two vectors on the x and y axes.
• Conversion Rates Between Different Units (C++): Built a program to convert various units (e.g., centimeters to inches) based on user input.
• Intel SQL Project: Analyzed Intel data in MySQL and created graphics on Tableau to determine optimal locations for a new eco-friendly center.
• Community Resource Database(C++): Designed and managed a database to help community members find essential resources and employment services.
• Temperature Converter (Python): Developed a program to convert temperatures between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin scales.
• VEX Robotics (Python): Programmed VEX robots, contributing to competition strategies and autonomous movements.
