- Initially I am working in a 15 bedded thoracic ward and 10 pulmonary hypertension study which is a continuing research facilitated by consultant and specialists nurse. Was able to contribute and participate in clinical research programme of the pulmonary hypertension clinic with regards to the thoracic side, we provide nursing for patients from diagnostic surgery such as lung biopsies complex procedure thorascopic (VATS) or robotic (RATS). We also provide care for patients who have bronchoscopy, pleural biopsy, mediastinosotomy, pleurodesis, decortication procedure and lobectomies.
- Later on, I was rotated to cardiothoracic ITU/HDU and cardiology which provided critical care and utilises keen observation and assessment skills for early recognition to hemodynamically unstable and deteriorating patient based on the vital signs, neuro obs, electrolyte balance, heart rhythm on cardiac monitor. Implementing immediate action and intervention to prevent further complication. Administer oral, parenteral IV drug includes inotropes, cardiac and other emergency meds observing safe administration guidelines.
