When I started college I tried to primarily focus my work experience around jobs that would ultimately allow me to gain experience in a variety of healthcare related positions. I also wanted to work with a mix of ages. I have worked with neonates of 24 weeks gestation all the way up to the geriatric population. I have been a neonatal ICU nurse for about two years. In these two years I have not only learned so many skills related to the neonatal/ infant population, but I have also had the pleasure of being able to build my relationship with the babies mothers and fathers. I have worked with basic feeder grower infants, infants on ventilators, mico and nano preemies, and I have sat with parents who are holding their infants for the first and last time.
