Monitors a residential community corrections facility, 24 hours per day ensuring the security, safety and well-being of the public, staff and clients by direct observation, use of video surveillance and monitoring alarms. Responds to client problems and/or inappropriate behavior; provides counseling to influence behavior modification; mediates disputes; explores problem-solving techniques; performs crisis intervention as appropriate. Provides additional supervision and monitoring of Division of Youth Corrections, Probation and Parole Offenders ensuring compliance with supervision plans, program regulations and parole and probation conditions in either a residential setting or while the client is living in the community. Conducts interviews of defendants in detention facilities, writes detailed reports and provides information to the local courts; making bond recommendations. Will also evaluate and recommend defendants for release from detention with supervision. Will closely monitor clients in the community to ensure compliance with program and court requirements by using electronic (Global Positioning Satellite Systems) monitoring. Administers drug and alcohol testing and collects urinalysis samples for testing following evidence collection procedures. Will conduct home and employment visits and responds to crisis and emergencies with assistance from law enforcement. Initiates random and regular monitoring of clients; performs formal and informal head counts; completes security rounds while on duty; supervises client behavior and activities; checks clients in and out of the facility. Conducts on-site employment visits and home visits. Responds to client incidents, crisis and violations in the field and coordinates law enforcement assistance. Provides client transportation to employment, counseling and medical appointments. Provides medication monitoring, and collects money for deposit into client accounts. Uses various computer applications and document and enters data to record information. In accordance with the Division of Criminal Justice Standards conducts pass, job, and authorized activity verifications; conducts client searches, vehicle searches and room searches, verifies employment search for unemployed clients. Will also transport clients from various correctional facilities, including to the local detention facility. Responsible for writing incident reports, application referrals, resident intakes and other administrative paperwork as required; May testify in court, probation hearings or parole board hearings. Teaches cognitive problem solving skills in a group setting and intervenes in conflicts or problems that may arise. May be required to restrain hostile or chemically affected individuals and transport them to appropriate facilities. Oral and written communications must be clear and effective. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsible but not limited to maintaining the safety and security of the adult MI and DD individuals housed on and off-campus at GJRC. Monitoring the environment, policies and practices for agency, state, and federal compliance with safety and security, policy and procedures. Recognizing critical behaviors, responding quickly and effectively to emergency situations, physically managing clients when necessary. Documenting and reporting observations, maintaining visual security of assigned areas, operating manual and electronic security equipment. Recommending improvements to security procedures and facility operations. Participate in medication pass, count, and inventory of medication. Prepare food and food preparation as needed. Currently trained and certified as Safety Care instructor. Train, coach, mentor new and tenure staff on all aspects of Safety Care and proper and safe methods of physical management using this process.
Responsible for the direct care of adjudicated offenders currently being housed at RCC in a lock down facility setting. Responsible but not limited to the daily functions of the offenders by providing safety and security, behavioral tracking, daily programming, exercise, transports, security counts, checks, well-ness checks, facility perimeter checks, medical and meals ect... Provide safety and security for all offenders and fellow co-workers at RCC. Responsible but not limited to offender training, offender pay, and proper training and supervision of the SWIFT (State Wildland Inmate Fire Team) program housed at RCC. Deploy to Wildland fires throughout the state of Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana as a Type 11 Wildland Fire Fighting suppression hand crew team. As a CSTS 1 Wildland Fire Crew Boss I perform but not limited to training and supervision of an eighteen up to twenty-three Wildland fire fighting crew. I perform Wildland fire fighting suppression and containment techniques while out on fires during fire season with the crew. During the non-fire season, we perform mitigation, controlled burns and other types of projects for fire mitigation throughout the state of Colorado. Was also but not limited to supervising, training, coaching and mentoring of up to three CO1 SWIFT trainee staff in all arears of fire suppression, fire mitigation, special projects and wildland firefighting.

I also performed mentoring, coaching, education, behavioral intervention programs, restitution and commitment programs, faith-based programs and other programs such as but not limited to ART, and RCJ on a regular basis.
