  • Attend yearly IEP goal-setting meetings to aid families and students aged 14.5 - 22 plan for that student's future
  • Coordinate, plan, and lead extensive after-school, Spring Break, Summer Break, and social group programming for teens and young adults with disabilities focused on becoming more independent in their homes, communities, with technology, and with each other
  • Maintain both a formal and informal network of support for parents, guardians, and fellow educators & school districts

  • Served as a certified employment case manager to adults with disabilities looking for competitive employment in the Bloomington - Normal area and fostered a relationship with our local Department of Rehabilitation Services office

  • Provided regular supports to the Transition Coordinator with facilitation of classes to students aged 16-22 enrolled in our Transition Program

I have received extensive training related to providing case management supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This involves collaborating with small person-focused teams interested in maintaining a sense of purpose, integrity, confidentiality, and independence in the lives of the people we support.

Accomplishments

    -Featured as a Lifelong Access ambassador, interviewed for radio and television highlights on WJCB Radio Bloomington, CBS WMBD Peoria, and both CBS-31 and FOX-43.

    -Spearheaded the creation, design, and layout of a computer lab to be utilized by individuals enrolled in the Lifelong Access Supported Employment and Transition Program.
