Jack Rasmussen

My goal is to earn a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Central Michigan University.

1. Minooka Community High School (MCHS) Football Team (Freshman through Senior year) - Defensive Lineman - Football has instilled a love for competition. It taught the importance of leadership, teamwork, dedication, discipline, and individual accountability.

2. MCHS Lacrosse Team (Freshman year) - Midfielder on the JV team - Determination led me to battle through multiple injuries and fight to earn a spot on the field.

3. MCHS Track & Field Team (Sophomore through Senior year) - Discus and Shot-Put Thrower - The Smith Strong Invitational taught me the importance of charity by seeing the impact a whole team can make when working together to raise money and awareness to fight cancer.

4. MCHS Disc Golf Club (Freshman year) - Member - COVID-19 led to many traditional sports being canceled. I remained open-minded and tried new activities to fulfill my social and competitive needs.

5. RBI Baseball Academy (Freshman year) - Pitcher, First Base, and Designated Hitter - Baseball has taught me perseverance. As a pitcher, you must have a short-term memory and mental capacity to overcome challenges.

6. MBSA Youth Softball and Channahon Park District Youth Basketball (Junior through Senior year) - Assistant Coach - Working with youth sports was a truly rewarding experience. It allowed me to channel my love for sports into guiding young children.

7. MCHS Reach Program for Students with Disabilities (Sophomore through Senior year) - It was fulfilling to spend time playing games and talking with my peers who had disabilities. It humbled me to appreciate the simple things in life.

8. MCHS Athletic Scholar (Freshman through Senior year) - Recipient - I have been recognized as an Athletic Scholar for every high school sport I have participated in. It is presented to athletes who keep a GPA over a 3.50.

9. National Honor Society (Senior year) - Member - My commitment to academic and extracurricular activities has been highlighted by my acceptance into the National Honor Society.
