In the past year, I have worked as a videographer at KEZI 9 News in Eugene, OR, and now as a videographer for Fox 10 News in Phoenix, AZ. Prior to that, I gained lots of experience in broadcast journalism while pursuing a journalism degree in college. - Main task each day is to work on 1-2 news stories a day, which involves filming footage for the story, interviewing a subject, and editing the footage under a tight deadline to have ready for the evening news broadcasts that day. I work on stories that were pitched by reporters each day, but I also promptly cover breaking news events that may occur in the area.
- My other main task is to film live broadcasts out in the field during the evening shows, which I’ve done with reporters out covering a story or with the meteorologist giving a weather report.
- I filmed high school basketball every Friday during the season, and edited that footage to have ready for the Friday night basketball show, “Roundball Wrap.”
