As a K-8 professional, I believe to affect students’ development and learning. It is important to demonstrate respect, empathy, and integrity. It is a must, to be
diligent to understand all students’ challenges, differences, and concerns through conversations with them and their parents/guardians. My behavior should be consistent and fair, reflect daily, seek advice from other staff, and make changes as necessary. By exhibiting these behaviors and actions, I give fair and honest assessments, present engaging lessons, and create a learning environment to promote curiosity and high achievement for all learners.
One of my greatest accomplishments so far besides graduating from Grand Canyon University is raising 6 children with my husband Devin Thomas. We currently have 14 grandchildren and one on the way! I have enjoyed over the years supporting the music and theater program as my children participated. I have loved watching them grow up in Lincoln County, and all six kids went on to continue their education at universities and Technical Colleges. My husband and I stressed to our kids to be well rounded in school as they worked on academics, participated in sports, and as well as the arts. As a family, we get together often. I love family time and holidays, and being an educator allows time off, which is a great benefit! I love to read, do crafts, sing, attend church, and play with the grandkids.
