Work History

Paid Researcher

University of Dayton Communications Department
Dayton, OH
07.2023 - 05.2024
  • Conducted paid research for the Dean's Fellowship Program with the University of Dayton's Communications Department.
  • I researched conflict management, resolution, causation, and power dynamics in the workplace, and how different communication methods ultimately affect the overall productivity of corporate and social organizations, with the end goal of creating a visual simulation that could be used as a training tool for professional organizations and companies.
  • These projects required self-guided research, data collection, and months of planning before sharing the results of the study with the research group working on the project.
  • I adhered to ethical principles when collecting, storing, handling, and disseminating information taken from anonymous test groups, which was key to keeping our research unbiased.
  • Following these collaborative efforts, I then wrote the scripts that would be used in the filming of the simulation. These scripts accurately reflect our findings and will be used to further educate individuals in communication theory and how to resolve personal and professional disputes so they may retain their productivity in their careers, as well as in wider society.
  • I demonstrated durability, cohesive collaboration, with my team, achieved fast paced and accurate work results and an overall multi year vision for the future of the project so that it could be continued without delay following my departure due to achieving my Bachelors in Communication Management

Historian & Alumni Chair

Pi Kappa Phi National Fraternity
Dayton, Ohio
01.2023 - 12.2023
  • I was elected the Pi Kappa Phi national fraternity’s Iota Phi Chapter’s historian and alumni engagement chair. In this role, I was responsible for managing over 400 alumni members of our chapter from the last decade.
  • This required compiling a database from scratch, keeping track of, and managing our alumni, spread out nationally across the country. My responsibilities included driving up alumni engagement, gathering donations, and working with our social media team to create a brand that catered to both our recent graduates and older ones who were more established in their careers.
  • I finally coordinated our first decade reunion event and was in charge of coordinating transportation, events, and lodging for our visiting alumni. This involved personally communicating with over 100 alumni via phone, email, text, and in-person conversation in the weeks leading up to the event. The weekend required additional catering of food and drinks, renting out an appropriate venue for our gathering, and getting approval from the University to host such a large gathering.
  • Upon leaving the position I trained my successor to continue the stability and effectiveness of the role; ensuring a continuity would not disrupt the carefully crafted alumni relations had built up over the last year.

Dishwasher & Linecook

Raffa's Waterfront Grille
Kingwood, TX
05.2021 - 08.2021
  • A dishwasher in a higher-level kitchen was tasked with stocking, sanitation, maintenance, and cleaning the kitchen.
  • This role required long work hours under stressful conditions, often with very conflicting personalities and language barriers, which I successfully overcame through my conflict management and communication skills.
  • Upon being promoted to a line cook, I was placed in charge of preparing appetizers, salads, and desserts. This role involved working as accurately, efficiently, and quickly as possible to complete orders, and as part of a team, despite clashing personalities. In addition to this, I was also tasked with cleaning, stocking, and preparing the kitchen for the next day.
  • The role of line cook also at times required a creative and artistic mindset to make the dishes more appealing the customer which in turn would help generate profits as the visual appeals of the dishes were marketed to reflect the upscale theme of the restaurant.

Ice Cream Server

Sundaes on Sylvan
Rome City, IN
05.2017 - 08.2018

  • Provided excellent customer service by responding promptly to customer inquiries and requests.
  • Followed proper sanitation guidelines when handling food products.
  • Trained new employees on proper food handling techniques and customer service standards.

Helping Hands Food Pantry - Volunteer

  • Worked as a volunteer at a local food pantry helping impoverished communities in northeastern Indiana around the community of Rome City from May 2016 to August 2019.
  • This involved working with local businesses for donations, stocking, cleaning, organizing food, and distributing it to those in need.
  • I kept to a high level of ethics and anonymity in order to work to the maximum extent of my abilities.
  • I eventually moved up to mid level management helping train new volunteers, collecting donations off site and bringing them back to our center of operations, and opening/closing the food pantry with the head levels of the operations.
