Work History

Industrial Engineer – 777X Program, Composite Wing Center

Boeing Commercial Airplanes
Everett, WA
06.2018 - Current

Drive industrial engineering support for the 777X Composite Wing Center, optimizing production flow of large-scale composite components in a high-complexity manufacturing environment.

Production scheduling and support

  • Establish and maintain a partnership with manufacturing, management, and various engineering disciplines and take ownership of all assigned production cells as well as special projects
  • Maintain management tools and visual production health metrics to track cycle time and identify constraints across work cells
  • Conduct in-depth time studies, ergonomic assessments, capacity modeling to optimize cycle time, equipment utilization, and flow of high-rate composite layup and cure operations
  • Develop and implement detailed operating plans and production schedules and health metrics and deliver daily progress to plan reporting
  • Identify processes that contribute to increased cycle times and provide targeted training initiatives to support improved quality and operator efficiency
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings and present production health statistics to senior leadership, highlighting shop floor trends, improvement opportunities, and alignment with upcoming production scale-up targets.
  • Conducted time studies, capacity modeling, ergonomic and human factor considerations, to reduce cycle time and improve equipment utilization and process optimization
  • Develop and document standard work, optimize production process sequence, flow, and layout to drive continuous improvement and implement targeted training to stabilize processes

Facilities integration and downtime Planning

  • Monitor new work cell construction and ensure on track to planned production implementation ready for use schedule and carefully plan production transfer and integration start up seamless transition
  • Coordinate and identify opportunities within regular production schedules to seamlessly incorporate routine maintenance
  • Initiate urgent and detailed recovery planning efforts to mitigate unplanned disruptions and ensure continued alignment with production targets
  • Collaborate with facilities, manufacturing, engineering, tooling, maintenance as well as external suppliers to facilitate requests for complex, large scale, highly intrusive interruptions
  • Ensure minimal disruption by determining or creating optimal schedule windows for intrusive projects that affect multiple work cells and/or facilities for several days
  • Provide thorough coordination and communication of locations, durations, and impacts to all stakeholders and prompt notification of any schedule changes

Future production rate readiness

  • Analyze current production performance with consideration of anticipated improvement project implementations to determine quantity of assets and personnel required to forecast labor, equipment, and space needs in order to achieve future production rates
  • Maintain and analyze rate readiness performance metrics and equipment utilization to determine capacity capabilities and requirements and support data driven high level leadership decisions regarding future rate increases and capital asset purchasing
  • Create and present high level leadership ready PowerPoint decks with detailed charts, highlighting performance, key metrics, production risks, and mitigation strategies, as well as forecasting future rate capabilities in order to support high level leadership decisions regarding future rate increases

Quality Investigations – 777 Program

Boeing Commercial Airplanes
11.2014 - 06.2018
  • Led investigations into non-conformances related to complex assembly and production techniques as well supplier issued parts, with a focus on root cause analysis to identify, document and recommend corrective action implementation, and production quality improvement.
  • Coordinated with engineering, manufacturing, and external suppliers to identify, define, and resolve high-impact quality issues by performing root cause analysis, evaluating adherence to procedures, processes, regulatory and drawing requirements
  • Documented all investigative findings using quality management systems, negotiated concurrence and commitments, driving resolution through preventive and corrective actions
  • Created custom nonconformance reporting and heat mapping visuals, as well as statistical reporting dashboards to monitor production health for key issues such as skin defects and hole mislocation, enabling visibility and prioritization to enable high level leadership to drive quality closure of internal quality gaps
  • Contributed to major production cost reduction efforts by providing customized quality and defect data and location heat mapping which drove informed prioritization leading to process stabilization

Tool Engineer – 777 & 767 Programs

Boeing Commercial Airplanes
02.2011 - 11.2014
  • Delivered both rapid response and long term tooling solutions to support fuselage and wing production. Led cross-functional tool design initiatives, resolved emergent shop floor challenges, and ensured all tooling solutions met safety, quality, and production performance standards.
  • Designed new and modified existing tooling using CATIA V5, converting legacy CATIA V4 models and collaborated with manufacturing, quality, and safety teams to ensure all tool design packages met customer and configuration management requirements
  • Reviewed contractor tooling design packages and verified technical integrity, ergonomic and safety, and all design requirements were met through collaborative meetings with all stakeholders, providing detailed documentation and formal analysis reports
  • Provided tool engineering liaison support through rapid-response tooling projects that addressed urgent shop floor needs by implementing timely solutions that ensured minimal impact to production schedules
  • Conducted fall protection design reviews using Gravitec analysis techniques, modifying existing systems as identified to ensure compliance with rigorous and evolving safety standards
  • Released tool design packages through ENOVIA with full drawing validation, product data management approvals, and MES final buyoffs.
