- Prior to being employed by the Houston County Sheriff's Office, I worked for the Houston County School System. I was employed as an educational assistant, but was responsible for developing a curriculum and teaching art and music for grades pre-k through 5th.
- I accepted a position as a School Resource Officer and graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy, class of 1884. I graduated with honors for the highest overall academic scores.
- As a School Resource Officer, I developed an anti-drug and bullying program that I taught to 5th-grade students. I was also on the district safety team and participated in developing emergency operation plans and district-wide policy.
- After a year of working patrol, I was promoted to Patrol Sergeant. I deal with administrative issues, instruction of deputies, and disciplinary issues. I am responsible for reviewing incident reports, Titan reports, and minor accident reports.
- Other job responsibilities include running the sex offender registry for Houston County. I also work as an investigator dealing primarily with sex crimes and child abuse.
