I consider myself skilled at a wide range of practical and useful tasks. Working so long in my position at my hotel has exposed me to a great deal of revolving repairs that have made me comfortable dealing with most common and some not so common issues that occur in commercial properties. These issues translate over to residential atmosphere as well and has helped me to be proficient at maintaining my home myself without needing much outsourcing. I feel this is invaluable knowledge especially in the climate we are in now.
I've dealt with complete plumbing replacement, including the pipes, tubs, showers, faucets, toilets, and sinks.
I've rerun electrical to fixtures, or areas that didn't previously have power. And I've installed a wide range of electrical fixtures. I've also handled a few projects involving 240v power.
I have a basic grasp of HVAC and the maintenance of it as well.
Replacing carpet, cabinets, wallpaper, and shelving is a common event for me.
I know drywall installation and repair.
I have years of experience in all aspects of painting. Mostly roller and brush. But I've also used HVLP spray guns. I've clocked in countless hours of prepping and painting interior and exterior walls, fixtures, and furniture. It's a constant at my job now and I frequently take on projects at home and friends houses that involve painting.
I also consider myself a pretty skilled woodworker and find as much time as I can to create pieces for myself and for others. I'm a huge fan of custom things and like to be as creative as possible when furnishing my house. I've been fortunate enough to be able to custom design and build the majority of things in my home.
I view myself as a very motivated worker. I always do my best and refuse to cut corners. Most of the work I do is visible and subject to critique so I pride myself on doing good work. If I run into a snag (and I often do) I figure it out without impulsively quitting.
At my hotel, I've worked with many different people and am exposed to many more from around the world and get along well with all of them.
My job typically is focused on repairing issues that arise and those issues vary drastically so keeping a level head and being adaptable is a key practice for me.
I love to be challenged and exposed to new tasks and I'm always open to learn.
