  • Provides subject matter expert knowledge and expertise on planning, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of advanced electronics systems such as imaging (FLIR, SAR, traditional), communications systems, networked computer systems, and radar
  • Reads, interprets, and follows blueprints, technical instructions, wiring diagrams, and modification orders to accomplish maintenance within technical specification.
  • Utilizes advanced test equipment to calibrate, test, and repair all aforementioned systems, including, but not limited to: KV and MA meters, pitot-static testers (TTU-415), IFR, VHF, TACAN/VOR, IFF (PLM-4) testers, borescopes, and micrometers. Utilizes hand tools including, but not limited to: pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, impact drivers, johnson bars, tap and die sets, soldering irons, heatguns, test leads, crimpers, and all associated safety equipment.
  • Repaired and replaced standard, coaxial, pneumatic, and fiber optic wiring and connectors. Utilizes all applicable wire repair tools and is trained in processes.
  • Performs scheduled or routine maintenance following established processes, technical data, or checklists.
  • Resolves breakdowns of radar, communication, and computer systems in high-pressure and timely situations (REDBALL) to quickly avoid aborts of scheduled or unscheduled missions while adhering to safety requirements.
  • Operates a variety of stationary or mobile support equipment required to operate systems or accomplish tasks (power generators, hydraulic carts, nitrogen carts, compressed air carts, lightning carts, etc..)
  • Loads, configures, and audits generic and proprietary software on a variety of electronic components, including cryptological software. Aggregates and reports aircraft configuration and flight histories for online databases. Documents and maintains aircraft maintenance histories in both paper forms and digital databases.
