Jacob DeJarnette

I have worked for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for over five years. In these five years, I have taken numerous classes to further my career and knowledge. Some of these classes have certified me to be a Drug Recognition Expert, where I work diligently to remove impaired drivers off the roads.

I spent my first four years on patrol, handling calls for service and dynamic incidents. In my time as a patrol officer working in a large city, I honed my de-escalation and verbal skills and policed fairly and with compassion.

As of April 2024 to present, I work in a covert capacity utilizing street clothes and unmarked police vehicles. My current job duties consist of conducting surveillance techniques to apprehend suspect's wanted for probable cause or active arrest warrants. My current job duties also consist of developing probable cause to author and execute search warrants.

• My hobbies include camping around northern Nevada and Utah, going to the sand dunes, fishing, and gaming

• I received a commendable action from LVMPD after I was involved in a vehicle pursuit for a suspect who attempted to kill multiple people with his vehicle before driving against traffic on a busy freeway during rush hour traffic. The suspect was safely apprehended, and no citizens were harmed

• I completed over 100 hours of training through LVMPD to become a certified Drug Recognition Expert.
